Should you REALLY buy the new Z06 (now)?

Happy New Year everyone. I've been on the site for a few years now, recently sold an 02Z, still have another 'fun' car and am considering the new z.

Surprisingly (probably shouldn't be), I've already read posts on this forums and others of Z06s for sale due to hardship, divorce & personal reasons. Athough your business is none of mine, please really do your math before buying this car. If you are going to finance, please leave room for all of your monthly expenses (mortgage, cars, bills) - those are easy.

Remember the others: income taxes, property taxes, insurance, 401k, lunches, ATM, gifts, etc. and leave yourself some cash to save/invest (all of the 'other' expenses we sometimes forget). This car is truly incredible, but it worries me to think of people getting in trouble and having to dump the car with little (or negative) equity.

Sorry, I hope this thread is not taken the wrong way. I just wish everyone the best in 2006, and would hate to think of families or relationships being sacrificed over a toy car.

Good luck - Happy New Year, best wishes.

Dude (son),
You have the exact car I want: LeMans Blue, 2LZ, NAV. I think that is the best combo.
Congrats!

Another possible reason for selling (not applicable to regulars here ...) ... buyers new to Corvettes finding out that they are not the equal of the car .... getting scared and selling it ...
I know a guy who isn't sure he'll ever be able to extract all the car has to offer.
Also found a C6Z with under 500 miles on it, taken in trade for a supercharged Land Rover

I would really have probably thought twice about buying mine if I had to have financed it unless I had a healthy down payment.

Man I hope that Land Rover guys leg is long enough to kick himself in the ass. Can you believe that? Kind of like going SCUBA diving for the first time. Lot's of guy's get the hell scared out of them and the equipment is the first thing that goes.
