If you're gonna drive your car to its limits, a wing like that may be needed to stay on the ground.

Agree that it is YOUR CAR and you should be able to eat mashed potatoes every day if you wish. Besides, I seen one on this site as well, I believe a deep blue Z and it looked good to me. But then again, I like starchs so.....
Rice or Mashed Potatoes. Its all the same to me.
Go for it! Just make sure you post some pics once it is installed, ok?

I have installed a box wing on my car a year and a half ago. It works great at Road America, at Blackhawk Farms, and on the street - and I can still get my golf clubs into the boot.
What you have to consider is where his bad boy is going to be mounted.
If on the deck lid, then you will have to buttress it with 1/4 inch Lexan sheet. Otherwise, the wing will first deform and then drive itself through the skin.
Next, you will have to construct an aluminum structure beneath the wing that abutts its mounting bolts so as to translate the downforce directly to the frame. Ideally, this structure should be removeable. I used one inch aluminum angle stock with velcro mountings.
In the end, naysayers will poo-poo such a wing. However, when I set mine up to the most aggressive deflection, at 70 mph, the affect is such that my hood rises and I can hear the creaking in the trunk area.
