I feel your pain. I tried to get some insight from this forum and didn't get much response. JDogg has an old post showing event codes and estimated times for each. Very helpful.
You can sit at that level for some time. Mine did. I believe 2500 is when word goes to your dealer that factory has picked up the order. I got the email from my dealer on 1/14/06 that my order was picked up by the factory. Once it hits 3000 they should get the TPW (target production week). Mine didn't get the information so fast. Still took about two-three weeks to get the TPW. After that they will eventually get the VIN. If you are getting a museum delivery, which I would highly recommend, the Z06's aren't automated like the verts/coupes, where they can see them on the computer. The Z06 production information for them comes on a manually generated sheet they get from the plant.
With all this being said, my car is being produced late Monday or Tuesday and the delivery date at the museum is March 8. Extrapolation: 7.5 weeks once the order is picked up by the factory. Also, in the many conversations with the factory and the museum (Gary), your dealer should get your information before any of them do. The museum couldn't even see any information regarding the order until about 2 weeks before production. Hound your dealer. He's the one making the money on it.
