Re: Tac tac tac noise in cabin please help!
I do not like seeing posts with no replies. So here goes.
It is going to be difficult for us to find a solution when your dealer has the car and tools. But;
Being logical in response to what you are saying, and with my limited understanding of the electronics of the Corvette, maybe I can kick off an idea:
by elimination I would suspect the fuel pump kicking in or some such or if you press a driver button, some other electric motor working.
Here is why. I repeat I am not an expert and may have this incomplete or wrong. (Except the RFID bit that is)
As you approach your cat, the RFID sensor in your key fob identifies you as being wither driver 1 or 2, the fob is coded to the RFID tag receiver with a unique identifier.
The car, when it senses the correct code "wakes up". Such that the door button can be operated, but also a number of other items light up. (Reason not to leave the fob close to the car for storage as it runs down the battery.)
Some times the fob gets confused, either by interferance from another key RFID (As in my Golf) or some other radio interference or block to the signal.
This is why my car sometimes beeps three times when I lock it, even if it is programmed as silent for driver one.
When you get in and press the driver button, a number of preset selections take effect,
The most obvious is the seat, steering whel, rear view exterior door mirrors and radio selection. (or at least mine does '08 spec)
I have noticed the the steering makes a noise (A sort of rubber thunk) when it deploys to positions, and mostly when I press the exit button, this is because it drops back to a completely "closed" position, which I have found easier use, but so does my seat which rolls fully back (I have a harness bracket on the floor so it does not roll back completely.)
In the engine compartment I suspect a number of items also light up:
Ignition, Fuel Pump, Oil Pump etc .
Therefore by elimination I would suspect the fuel pump kicking in or some such or if you press a driver button, some other electric motor working.
There you go, a start to your thread..
Not sure it helps though.
