for those w/o cats + (headers choice)

are you running a o2 simulator after the cats? I am looking into headers w/o cats... what is run so the car doesn't pull a code?

I was thinking either kooks headers, or american racing.. which do people prefer?

Re: for those w/o cats + (headers choice)

Haven't done anything with the C6Z but assuming it's no different than the C5Z you can runs o2 sims.

I think the experience by most folks here on the site is that unlike the C5Z, headers (even good ones like Kooks and ARH) do not provide a lot of upside for the C6Z. Very small gains on the top end and some slight mid-range gains. Certainly questionable considering the cost of a set of headers. (1)

I saw the exhaust manifold on my C6Z after it was removed for a potential header install (didn't keep the headers) and it is much, much better than the oem exhaust manifold on the C5Z. That probably explains the minimal gains.

My advice (for what it's worth) is to spend your money instead on a good tune and possibly a CAI. That's where you can see appreciable gains.

**(1)** If you are adding blower, turbos or H/C, headers might make a bigger difference in those circumstances.

Mike
