Re: Tire for drag strip and daily use

the nittos don't come in exactly the right sizes for the C6z. I can't remember where they are off.

Hoosier R6s are on my car now. They are more or less DOT legal slicks, and the traction is awesome. If it ever rains when I'm driving somewhere, I'll just pull over and take a nap.

Re: Tire for drag strip and daily use

I'm also running the R6's on the street. I did drag race with them, and while traction is very good, they don't launch well, the sidewalls are just as stiff as the runflats. I think a better choice would be drag radials, but there are none to fit 19" wheels. I'm running 18 x 13" CCW C-14 wheels and when I wear out the Hoosiers will put on a set of 345/30-18 BFG drag radials.

Interesting about the R6 and launch. I've never tried to launch my car from a start with factory rubber or the hoosiers. They sure grab better than the factory tires from a rolling start.

Re: Tire for drag strip and daily use

At a high altitude (DA in the 8,000' range) poorly prepped track I get about the same 60' on the stock Goodyears as I can on the Hoosiers. From there on the Hoosiers are far, far better. On stock tires I have traction problems all the way through second gear and get a little spin on the shift to third, but on Hoosiers (after the launch) I'm hooked up, no sideways action.
