Whirring Noise

Folks, I finally have my Corvette (2008 ZO-6), 500 miles and couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I have an irritating whirring noise that appears to be associated with engine and/or transmission RPM, in all gears and with the a/c on or off. It increases with RPM and disappears when coasting at idle. Any ideas???

Re: Whirring Noise

Thanks, Denny! It sounds as it is coming from the front of the car. Probably too early to worry about. What a great website!!

Re: Whirring Noise

I have the same sound associated with my car. I just figured it was a natural sound from a Z06. Does the oil sump system make any sort of noise?

Thanks

Re: Whirring Noise

Does it sound like this video?
Wierd Sound from Marv's C6

Mine does the same thing but only if I'm going downhill and I let go of the gas pedal. Here's another link you should look at:
DigitalCorvettes.com - whirring sound when shifting gears

Sorry I could help......... Fiddler50

Re: Whirring Noise

I've broken in alot of cars including my 08Z. There is alot going on and meshing in. I found my 08z to have had alot of noises while beaking in. I found by 3500 mls I had none of the original noises. Do a good break in and I mean proper break in for 500-1000 mls then slowly start having fun. It does take 1000 mls for the differential and trans to break in. Good luck sounds normal. Jim
