Will a Rear Tire 345/30-19 Fit?

Im hoping someone can tell me if the new Michelin Pilot PS2 345/30-19 will fit as a rear tire on our cars? It's obviously a little bit wider. I have 5300 miles on my GoodYear's and they are about done. Wont be much longer.....

They'll fit with no problem. Michelins tend to run a little narrower, anyway.

And guess what !!!!!!!!!!! Hoosier makes a drag radial in 345/30/19.
Anyone with experience on mounting these?

I wouldn't like the change in gear ratio, but hey............traction is #1

Re: Will a Rear Tire 345/30-19 Fit?

When did they bring that out? I know they make road race tires in that size (R6's) and autocross tires (A6), but that's the first drag radial I've heard of for a 19" wheel.

BTW: I run the Nitto Invos in 345/30-19 on stock wheels, they are great. I swapped to 18 x 13 wheels and 345/35-18 Hoosier R6's when the weather is good.

Yes, 11,000 miles of bliss.

Note! I have lowered my car w/ the PS2 345/30/19 setup. Not even a hint of a problem.

Enjoy!

Warp10,

Is it posssible to have you e-mail me a couple of pictures of your setup? or even if you could post them here. I am looking at doing the same thing.

Somone that works near me has a yellow z06 with Michelins 345's also but he has aftermarket rims and is not lowered, I am looking at your same excat set up(lowered with stock rims but wider tires)

Thanks!

How much tread is showing at 11,000 miles at the front and are the rear tires actually wider than the stock tires on stock wheels?

How much did it lower the front/rear?

I read that the rear tires rolled 764 RPM at 45 mph and the stock supercar tires rolled at 783 RPMs with the front wheels rolling at 816rpms in both setups. The traction control computer on my M3 was fooled and unnecessarily engaged when I changed tire sizes, do you have any indication of the traction control engaging even slightly (during spirited manuevers)?

In response to your questions.

I haven't put a guage on the tires, but they have more than another 11K miles left. Also, with the new rubber and lowering, alignment is mandatory.

The car would be right at home at a local Low Rider bash. It is slamed! The stock adjusters are all the way out, like 4 turns if I remember right.

There is almost 1 inch of difference in the rear tire heigth over the OEMs, taller. You need to calculate the difference and adjust the VCM accordingly. It is in the form of a computational field in my tuner software and it does the conversion for you and the VCM. I think that I am taching about 1750 @ 85MPH with this combination.

The only time that I've had the TCS kick in is when I'm dirt tracking on pavement and looking at the center stripe out of the door glass.

I put Pirelli PZero Rosso 345/25/20's on the rear and 275/30/19's on the front on custom rims-with no diameter change-looks awesome!

This can be done with the ls2edit? this adjust is mandatory if you put 345/30 tires on the C6Z.

Thanks!
