Window Valet

I just wanted to give a shout out to Southern Car Parts for selling a really cool item. The Window Valet which lets you lower, raise or vent your side windows with the remote key fob. This feature for me was important since the Z06 doesn't have the auto shut feature on the trunk lid. No matter how hard you slam it, it won't shut without you finally pushing down on it from the top, which on a black car really sucks if it is clean. I now just open the deck lid, roll down the windows from the remote and then drop the deck lid shut when I'm finished.

The Window Valet also has cool features like a recall that lets you see the highest rpm and mph obtained since you last reset it. Perfect for busting the Valet driver.

The unit installs in about 10 seconds and takes about 5 minutes to read all the instructions and you are in business. We live in a Microprocessor World!!!! Much different than the old days.

Re: Window Valet

Yes it is a great item, on the C5 it also turns the radio on when you activate the windows.

I love it.

I have had it on my last three Z's

Re: Window Valet

Actually, on the C5 you can turn on the radio and window power with a few button presses on the DIC. Much preferred over having to insert the key and turn to accessory, in situations where it matters.

It does the Window up/down thing.
It turns RAP back on after you open the car door.
It turns radio and window power on/off with the DIC.
It reads out highest recorded speed (145MPH ;^}) with the DIC.
It sets the speedo to 40MPH and keeps it there via the DIC.

The last one is good if you get stopped by a Cop... "gee, no, officer. I guess I didn't realize how fast I was going. See? My speedometer is busted".

That is a cool trick. I might have to buy one just for that reason alone.
