Pfadt Racing launches the solid spherical bearings you've been looking for

With race season well under way, we're all testing the limits of our race cars and of course our driving! Seat time is the only cure for better driving, but in conjunction with that, our engineers have been busy working on cures for your race car.

We're very proud to formally launch our Pfadt Solid Spherical Bearing kit. Polyurethane bushings are a huge improvement over factory rubber, but solid mounts are the ultimate in eliminating friction and deflection in your control arms.

The factory busing deflection leads to unwanted toe and camber changes in both the front and rear as well as steering sluggishness. We've been running these on our race car for two seasons now and we can run less camber (because we don't have to account for the deflection), we get more consistent tire wear, and the steering is crisp and responsive.

Our kit replaces all 18 bushings with beautiful 6061 T6 aluminum sleeves, anodized Pfadt orange and laser etched with our logo and part numbers. The bearings are held in place with military grade Loctite 638 and retaining clips - they are actually easier to install then polyurethane bushings.

It takes about 108 individual bits to make one 18-piece kit. We do most of the work for you, so all you need to do is the install. Made and assembled in the USA, this kit is is the right solution for your control arms.

Please let us know if you have questions about any of our products or about car set up in general.

-Aaron

Re: Pfadt Racing launches the solid spherical bearings you've been looking for

These are a needed up grade for serious racers and will do what Aaron says they will do. If you are not participating in a specific class type competition then these are a nice suspension upgrade.

However they would be illegal in SCCA Solo II Local, Regional, National Tour & Pro Solo Super Stock (SS) Class and A Street Prepared (ASP) as well as SCCA T1 Club Racing and those cars prepared to those classes that participate in SCCA Solo I PDE's, Time Trials & Hillclimbs.

They would be legal in SCCA Street Modified 2 (SM2) Class participating in SCCA Solo II (AutoX) and Solo I PDE, Time Trial & Hillclimb events.

NOTES: SCCA Suspension bushings:
1. Any SHOCK mounting bushing of any material is permitted in those classes that permit alternative shocks.

2. SCCA Stock Classes allow replacement suspension bushings ONLY of the same material as OEM

3. SCCA Street Prepared Classes allow replacement suspension bushing as long as the ratio of metal and non-metal is the same as OEM. Ie in this class you can replace the OEM non-metal bushing material (rubber) with Urethane, Poly Graphite or Delrin. In addition sub-frame bushings may be all metal (Not applicable to Corvette's).

4. SCCA T1 Class only permit those bushings which are listed on the T1 Spec line. Ie only GM T1 Suspension Kit bushings.

5. SCCA SM2 Class suspension bushings are unrestricted.

6. These would be legal for SCCA GT1, SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge cars, ALMS GT cars, FIA European Tour and LeMans Series cars.

7. I am unsure of the NASA & TCA specific preperation rules but those cars allowed to participate with SCCA reciprocity prep must follow the SCCA rules.

I only expounded on these caveats as I have seen cars bumped up in class only due to a bushing change. If you are going to use these bushings then you will also need to use ALL the performance allowances of the higher class in order to be competitive.

Read the rules first.
