Plug n play dual speed coolant fan switch - full control of your fan! New @ PFYC
New Product Announcement - Dual Speed Coolant Fan Switch
This innovative harness is designed to manually override the ECU (engine control unit or your car's computer) functions of the PWM coolant controller while still allowing complete ECU control of the coolant fan.
This Plug-And-Play module installs under the hood at the fan connector. When the need arises to manually cool your radiator down, this module gives you complete control of the fan. This kit can be installed in less then one hour, once you decide on where you want to place the control switch. This switch matches the style and look of cockpit switches used on the C6.
The switch wiring can be installed easily, without the need to cut a hole in the firewall. The wiring can be fed thru the upper door jamb, driver or passenger side, and hidden under the weatherstrip door seal into the passenger compartment. The location of the switch can be anywhere you desire.
Fits all 2005 through 2009 Corvette including coupe, convertible, Z06, and ZR1
Dual Speed Coolant Fan Switch - 05-09 C6, Z06, ZR1

Can someone elaborate on the use case for this tool?
Doesn't turning on the AC do exactly the same thing?
I mean, once the drive commences and temps become high, the fan is on already. Yes? If someone wants to turn it on prematurely, they can simply turn on the AC - yes?
I'm just trying to fgure out how one would use this tool.

Yes, but for those that drag race or autocross or other events, this is a better way to do it. Turning on the A/C quickly drains your battery and robs power when you need it.

I had a Vinci on my 1st C5 Z06 and found the Hypertech worked the fans (C5 has 2 fans) better. My 06 Z06 runs too hot for my liking and Hypertech tuner will not control the single fan (C6), doesn't even ask what T-stat you have. What temp settings can one use on this unit described above? I'd like to run a 160 T-stat and have the engine temp kept about 185-190 tops. Will this unit do that? Thanks. Any other fan controller info for the C6 Z06 appreciated.

To set the turn-on temp for the fan you need to have programming access to the PCM. No plug-in fan controller can do that part.
This controller allows you to set high (90% duty cycle), low (10% duty cycle), or PCM (computer controlled - i.e. factory control) of your fans. It has those three settings only. The stat is independent of this controller.

Ecklers has the same unit. Same price. 3 control modes, Low/High speed and Off. They provide a PDF on the sales web page (bottom left) if you want to read it for installation instructions. They also mention cutting an 11/16" hole to mount the switch.
