So I'm in the parking lot of the local Starbucks yesterday, and a white C6 Vert pulls in. I look it over (IMO, the C6 is like an accident at a crosswalk. Horrible, but you can't look away). To my even greater horror, I see that the car has Z06 fender badges.
WTF? I simply can't understand why anyone would do such a thing. I guess if you're buying the car to "compensate" for some inadaquacy, and you can't afford the real thing, and you aren't able to look yourself in the mirror because of it, a little "badge engineering" might make you feel better about yourself. But don't people like this realize that anyone who knows anything will immediately recognize them as a "poser"?
I mean, sheesh, buy a Porsche or something.
Lame. Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame... The only thing that I was glad of was that I was in my wife's Sierra PU and not my Z, so I didn't have to talk to the guy.

Rocket,
Can't say I agree with your take on the looks of the C6, but the badge thing is wrong. On the one hand, some peoples taste is in their Ar$e, but on the other other hand they've got a every right to it.

I tend to lean toward RocketSled's impression of the C6 also however...
Colin raises the quintessential question.
Norm.... that's not your accident. That's the accident of some guy from another car website. You're such a poser.

Well, I didn't really like the C5 when it showed up. The look did grow on me, though, so perhaps the C6 will as well... only time will tell. I do think the C6Z looks better than the plain-jane C6. But if all you need to do to "soup up" a plain C6 is slap a few badges on it, there's something definitely wrong with the world.
As for why I was at Starbucks, the question's clearly being asked by someone who's never spent any time lounging at one. Nothing better as far as spectator sports goes, IMO, a decent cup of coffee and a near continual supply of caffine addicted female eye candy. The perfect morning wakeup.

Hmmm...leave it to you to come up with an idea like this. I'm a Dunkin' Donuts coffee kinda guy but I guess I can try Starbucks for the extra added attractions.
That is a GREAT picture of your car ... against the right background it would just rock
Now, as for the poseur at Starbucks ... I would relish engaging such person in innocent banter about "really ... a Z06 ... I heard about them ... etc..." It would be priceless...

Of course, as they say in the advertising business, it's all about location, location, location. The view here in north central Florida where I have a second home, is superior to the view in central Mass where I have my primary residence.
I dunno. The equestrian thing is big down here and there's just something about women in tiight riding attire that gives me a chill...
