What i do prior to the show at home...is vacuum the car thoroughly!! Nothing NO WHERE on the carpet!! I also, insure the interior is well prepped, along with the dashboard...windows inside are cleaned. With my Corvettes, and I am not proud to state here, they are used to exploit them at shows..local and otherwise. Thus, with my case, when I arrive at the show...the Corvette is mainly detailed already....But,I always insure I have packed a very damp cloth,to run over the treads of the tires....right after I use my small hand brush,to brush off any debris that may have collected on the tires driving thru the grass? getting to where ever you park it at...And,plus,I always rotate the tires OUTWARD...this shows the tires are clean and free of any road debris..and they are glistening..after the tire foaming cleansers have had time to work....If being in a judged event, and your car is in a virtual tie with another entrant,it may mean the difference!! Hell,I even waxed the weep hole in my gas lid compartment once in a Concourse event!! Yes!! They checked it too!!! At the show, insure no bugs remain on the front fascia as well as your windows. Run your California duster over the car....armor all the sidewalls.....And while doing that, insure the fender wells are dirt free...I also do the hoses under the hood....And when I know the judges are coming close...I have the doors ajar a tad,for them to look and confirm the interiors clean!! And oh yes...I always flip the hidden toggle switch beneath the drivers side steering column, and light the "strobes"....
All this sounds like a bunch of crazies...but i enjoy showing off the Corvette...both on and off the "field" of play..
The first thing I would do is remove that Zaino. Try pure show car glaze from Mcguires. Most show cars never see wax its to hard to get a streak free gloss. I have applied Zaino to 2 of my cars and the results haven't been that great. I live in Colorado, a very dry climate, and the Zaino does't dry. My Z06 was waxed with Zaino a couple of months ago and if any one touches the paint it will smear. I have stripped one of the cars of Zaino, and the Z06 is next.

Amonst the Vettes, the oldest got first, 2nd oldest second, third oldest third. Mine had the most lookers however, but not many of them were voters
Long ago!!! I stopped taking my Corvettes to shows which had "participant judging",that is such a farce!!!! I had taken my Grand Sport to one of those (the LAST one!!),and an OLD Dodge Dart with a rusted trunk!! won over mine! Can you believe it!! What happens is,the "good ole' boys" who belong to Clubs, get together and vote for all their cars and hardly any one else's...Of course one can't vote for his/hers, but when there are 20-30 members there...one doesn't have to.....Judged shows for me!!! ONLY!..................Sorry that happened to you!! BUT WE KNOW who had the sharpest one!!! YOU!!
Congrats! For being the most "looked-after'
