Confused about 02 Zo6 seats vs. 02 Coupe Sport seats..?

I'm looking to replace my stolen 02 C5 coupe with an 02 Z and have been looking at alot of Z's... Seems to me alot of the seats I've seen look like the standard seats ( no hole in the seat back near the top ) and the side bolsters seem smaller than the seats in my 02 Coupe with Sport Seats... I've looked at the specs and ordering guides and can't find any option for seats in the Z's so what's the deal...? Do ALL 02 Z06's have the same seats and are they standard ( no hole ) or sport (hole near the top back ) ...?

Correct. ALL Z06's have the same seats and are they standard ( no hole ) or sport (hole near the top back )
The only option is all Black or Black with Red inserts (Modified Red) .

Hmmmm, interesting. The question is, would custom covers made for coupe sport seats ( hole in top back ) fit Z06 seats without the hole in the back, meaning, is the hole actually there in the foam back of Z seats but covered up by stock Z covers...?
I've recently gotten interested in a set of sport seat covers from Mid America and they all seem to be for Sport seats only...

You can make (convert) your Z06 seats into Sport seats by purchasing the cover and the seat back foam.

Do a search on seats (top right of this page) and will get lots of info.

You will need new foam to do this.

RIP Ken King.

I bought a set of sport seats from an 02 coupe through eBay. With them I have adjustable lumbar and, more importantly, adjustable side bolsters. If you go this route, you have to re-arrange the wires in the plug, but thanks to a writeup about it in the Pit Road forum it's pretty easy. Not sure you get that if you just get the covers and foam.

I had a conversation with Ken King (RIP) at Z06fest two years ago and what it would take to convert my Z06 seats into super sport style.. He said the metal frame is the same for both seats (std, super sport) and all you need is the correct foam for the frame and the new cover. He had the cheapest deal on the foam and then it is up to you how much you want spend on the leather cover (OEM or Vette Essentials). You do not get the inflatable lumbar and all that just by the foam replacement. The last thing you need is a experienced uphosterer to do the work. You could also add seat warms while you have everthing apart if you wanted that feature. FYI
