Heading to Tennessee to pick up a CTS-V!
After she narrowed her choices down to the Acura TL 6 speed and CTS-V, Kim got a chance to try both... fortunately the V won! We found an '04 in Tennessee that sounds like the perfect car. Low miles, no accidents, garage kept (even garage parked at work) and stock except for Hotchkis bars and a drop-in K&N filter. We're heading out after work today. It's a 600 mile drive... hopefully it will be worth it.
Good stuff
So ... does that mean she takes point on the next run to BG with the young'un in a 6 point harness in the back seat?
Guy had a CTS-V at Summit-Jefferson Circuit HPDE end of March ... running Counter-Clockwise - was drifting that baby thru turn 1 and using ALL the track on the left turn from the downhill backstretch ...

Re: Heading to Tennessee to pick up a CTS-V!
We got it and Kim loves it! We left Mobile Thursday evening around 6:30 and made it to Knoxville around 4:00A. We slept a few hours and headed to Johnson City. Other than nearly getting rear ended while test driving it, the trip was nice. We bought it from a physician who gets a new car every 2-3 years. He replaced it with a Mercedes C350 (yawn). Other than a few little scuffs here and there, it's practically new. Little to no UV damage. Clean Carfax and he took it to the dealer regularly for maintenance and the TSBs are up to date. It's really hard to tell that it's got 35K miles on it. There's only 2 months of the factory warranty left, so I'm shopping for a good deal on the GM Major Guard extended warranty.
In all honesty, I'm shocked how well it handles and stops. It's logic-defying... a car that weighs this much shouldn't accelerate and handle this well
I reset the DIC and ran 70-73 MPH for about 250 miles and it showed a 25.7 MPG average.
We forgot what a PITA CAGS is and the stock shifter is ridiculous... fortunately both easily remedied.
I'll post some pics tonight.

Beautiful car Dan! Congrats to Kim for a very wise choice. Enjoy it in good health!
