Let Norton quarantine it and then maybe Norton will let you delete it after that, and then you should be ok. If you didn't get the option, then find the file on your hard drive, right click on it and then choose scan with Norton antivirus and then you should get a choice to quarantine it. Good luck. Let us now how it goes.
Dan-you need to isolate the file. If it's a desktop computer, don't know if you have support help from where you purchased it, or call Norton directly. Might charge you for on-phone assistance
you were somewhere, probably rec'd a file through someone with the virus-
good luck, wouldn't send anything to anyone for now
get a mac !!
all those viruses don't work on the mac..
gotta love it ..

Sobig is a worm. Here is a link to the Symantec (Norton Anti-Virus) site that has all the info you need. Below is a link to their removal tool for this worm.
i found that info already....it looks complicated..........do i have to do all that is listed or will norton do any of this on its own..... right now i am doing a norton system scan..........shouldnt norton get this before it gets in my puter???? thats what i bought norton for
These guys are right about quarantining, but the computer I'm on now had a virus for which Norton's $170 Internet Security package couldn't even handle. We had to totally reformat the computer, and debug the harddrive, meaning you totally erase all info on the harddrive, not just a regular reformat. You might need to consider this if you have to reformat, since some of the better viruses can even survive a standard reformat. Hope it doesn't come to this for you though.
The virus definition file for your Norton Anti-Virus may not have had the information needed to identify this worm. If you follow the instructions on the second link (removal tool) you shouldn't have any problems in this case.
