If you had the choice

Would you build a 427 LSX F-body Camaro, or would you just get a C5Zo6, only reason why I ask is because I am debating on what i should do,

Re: If you had the choice

It depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you are a drag racer, I'd be all over the f-body. If you were about sports car handling and balance, no quesion. Get the Corvette.

Re: If you had the choice

Either one is going to be fun on the street. What are you going to do with the car? Just drive it for fun? Of course a Z06 is going to be more fun. It is more car. Better handling, better brakes, better everything. The only down side to a Corvette is the independent rear suspension if you like to drag race. Even then, it works, it just doesn't work as good as a solid rear.

Re: If you had the choice

I had the same decision years ago. Everytime I saw a camaro I thought wow thats sweet. You see a nice vette and your like Wholly.. I knew the image and reputation a vette had and thats what I wanted. Anything can be faster just decide what you want and like.

I know that's the thing, Before I had my heart set on the 03-04 Mustang Cobra, for the domestic side, for the import side WRX Sti or EVO, I mean i really dont know which to get, I have yet to see the Insurance quote's on the Camaro, that's like my dream though to own a really fast car and to be notice'd lol. I mean I dont want to dump a crap load of money into a car that would cost as much as a vette or something along those line's you know. I am defintely gonna take one for a ride.

Re: If you had the choice

well the Z06 is pretty much a supercar built from the ground up, from frame to suspension, etc.. The Camaro and other f-bodies were not really built to be supercars (as in the ability to compete performance wise with $100k plus italian cars, etc).

Also in terms of drag racing, solid rears are better, but i have seen Z06s run 8 sec quarter miles...

Car wise you get more with the Z06...
Style wise is a different story; everyone has their own preference...

Re: If you had the choice

If you go the camaro route then what? Just enjoy your ride? What would the next mod be, or is the car "done".

I would think a Z, you can enjoy it from the start and then plan your mods that can keep you busy for years. Do adults drive Camaros/Trans Ams? Just kidding my first car was 87 GTA and I just sold it a few years ago and I am well into my adulthood

The Z comes with a family the Camaro comes with ?? If you join the local Corvette club you can be busy every weekend..

I think they will let you test drive one if you look like a serious buyer. It might help if you bring an older guy (father?) with you to the dealership.
