Anyone familiar with the Discovery Channel is likely familiar with the shows; Monster Garage, American Chopper, Motorcycle Mania (1,2,3), and the Great Biker Build-Off (series). One regular icon of these various shows was a character known as "Indian Larry." This morning Indian Larry passed away from head injuries sustained during a routine in front of 8,000 fans. Of course, he was NOT wearing his helmet.
It was a shock to me hearing of his death. Once I found out how it happened I have to say I wasnt shocked anymore. From the first time I saw him on Discovery Channel riding down the highway and standing up on his seat with arms outstretched, I knew it was a matter of time. I admired Indian Larry because he was true to his sport and was a true craftsman. It's a shame that such a life had to be wasted on a stunt. He died doing what he loved, but it was way too soon.

Very true. Biker build-off won't be the same without him. The motorcycle world has lost a true craftsman.

Larry was building my favorite bikes as of late. He was a true artist and sportsman. His final exhibition was part of a new biker build off with Billy Lane scheduled to be aired next year. Discovery will have to make this episode a tribute. Ride on Indian Larry.
Two weeks I just sat at a bar (Full Throttle) in Sturgis, SD and drank a beer with Indian Larry. He was up there for a Bike Show during Sturgis Bike Week. I saw him and said hello and he said lets have a beer. He was a down to earth guy who enjoyed a beer and conversation. Sorry to hear this happened to him. Ride to Live. Live to Ride.

This is very sad news, he was down in south florida for a bike show this summer. He was a very nice guy and would talk with anyone. He would also let you sit on his bikes for pic's.
A very original builder, I'll miss him and his talent very much.
