King Ray's 427th post! 427 lovers check in!

Just had to do something special on my 427th post since I am such a big fan of the old 427 big blocks! Of course my post count will be different on the left after my next post. Too bad we can't have a serial number on each of our posts for special moments like this. What about it, JC?

Here's to 427's everywhere!

MikeZ06 respects the 427, but has one to beat in the 1/4 ml. at at the next FEST! And will be a Great Shoot-Out!

Thanks, Mike, Cal, IMA! Good luck against that 427, Mike! Long live the 427!

Too bad I am over 427 posts now.

However, I am well on my way to being a pilot!
Do I need to start taking flying lessons?

My first Corvette purchased for 3Gs in 1970, a '66 Big Block.

And it was loaded, knockoffs, gold striped goodyears, side pipes
teak steering wheel, telescoping steering column, headrest seats, power windows and antenna, AC.
I guess you can tell I miss that car.

427's were always super motors. Kind of like the 327's of small blocks.Quick revving motors, with lots of power. Congrats on your 427th post.

Mike: Good luck against that 427!

FRC Tom: That's a beauty! I have a '66 427/450
red/red leather sidepipe 4.11 two top convertible, and I
love it. I call it "The Beast". I think it would pull my
Viper coupe up til redline.

ZL1: I bought an Exoto Grand Sport model on eBay from a guy in NY and he claimed that there were 4 or 5 ZL1's, cause he and a
buddy each bought one new. He said his was stolen. Wonder if there really more than 2?

FiveOJoe: I think you should do something special for your 502nd post!

Baron: Thanks! Guess I'll be a pilot soon!

Don, I sure would love to have a 427 in my Z. Having
Lingenfelter bore and stroke my Z out to 427 would be cool.
Maybe someday.

Z06LS6: What mag is the article about the new ZL-1's in? Who
makes them?

to all the 427's! Long may they rule!

I was in the Boulder area for the last few days. Did I miss anything?

My 66 coupe was just the 427/390 but at 18 yrs old it was fast and fun.

Everything I have read and seen on the ZL1 including Idavette says 2.

GM's Newest, BIGGEST Big Block:

Automotive Engineering International (SAE publication) Ocotber issue reports the following:

The most powerful, largest displacement crate engine ever offered by GM Performance Parts is now on the aftermarket in two variants. 572 cid, 720hp, with 12:1 compression ratio designed to meet the needs of drag strip car racers, and truck pullers, and a 620 hp version with 9:1 CR, aimed at boaters as well as drag strip racers.

Both engines feature forged cransk,H-beam con rods, and pistons, as well as revised aluminum rectangular port cylinder heads.

GM plans to hand-build between 800 and 1,000 of the 572 cid engines.
