I have been involved with turbine powered boats for about 20 years. A friend of mine, Howard Arneson, is one of the pioneers. I have gone 186 MPH in a similar 40' Skater Cat he built. He now has a 46' Skater Cat with a 4600HP gas turbine in it. I own a 32' Skater Cat he built with a General Electric T58 gas turbine (1500HP). He set a worlds record in the boat on the Mississippi River, 1039 miles, in 12 hours and 41 minutes in 1989. The record still stands. He was 69 years old when he did it, amazing!!!
