Whats up guys?
havent posted in a while and was curious to get some feedback. I have been recently looking at the Shleby and possibly trading in the vette for something different. I absolutley LOVE the Z06 but for some strange reason I have been getting an itch for the Shelby.
Does anyone have any experience the the GT500 and how would you think it would compare? Would I be downgrading?

Keep the Z and buy the GT500. But in all honesty, I think it's definitely a downgrade. But in the end, you have to do what make you happy. Right or wrong.

What is it about the Z06 that you like/love?
Are those qualities, in your mind, present in the 500?
As I saw mentioned somewhere else, a GT 500 with 662 hp is like a Pro Street car, with LOTS of engine that's very capable in a straight line. And it weighs 650 lb. more than a Z06.
The Z06 is more like a Pro Tour car, which does everything well, except occasionally carrying 4 people.
If you want a Pro Tour 4-seater, consider a ZL1. MRC gives you a pussy-foot ride and canyon-carving handling, while giving up a smidgeon of power-to-weight.

The mustang might just as fast but like the comparison ZL1 to Z06 most test drivers felt the Z06 was faster and funner to drive than the ZL1 because it was more reponsive due to weight . I also think the high end mustang and camaro will fall in value allot more due to so many cheaper models .also you have a true sports car with low production # that wont ever rust, might be the last 427 etc . also the brakes on the stang SUCK . one test driver said on the 2nd lap on a road coarse brakes scared the hell out of him .

i LOVVVVEEE the z06! which is why i think i am keeping it, i just ALSO think the GT500 is an amazing car. I am typically a highway driver and dont do road courses ext, i just love driving the car!
Sell the Z to someone who appreciates a world class sportscar.

dont hate, im 35 years old and have had 2 vettes, i love them more than any other vehicle for under 75K...sometimes trying something different or change is good...
Keep the Z. I just traded my 2012 GT500 for a 08 Z06. What a difference. The Shelby was faster, but the Z06 is such a welcome change. Much more fun to drive. I feel as I've up graded by far. Good luck on you decison making.
mustang has struts and solid rear axle. corvette has double wishbones and heckuva lot less weight. so when the road actually bends, which would you rather?
