My 8 year old son....

....ordered $167 worth of Bionicle toys from lego.com. Since he didn't have a credit card, he opted for COD.

Fortunately they called to confirm which was how my wife found out about it. She made my son get on the phone with Lego who told him nicely not to do that without asking his parent's permission first!

I spend so much time locking down his browser so he can't wind up on some freaky NAMBLA-type website; never thought to block him from SHOPPING!

That's great... Be lucky he isn't a young Bill Gates... He may lock you out of your computer.

I would have ordered you some new Hooziers as well as my Lego stuff. That way you might have let me get away with it.

That's great! Reminds me when my 9 year old son lost a tooth (long time ago as he's 24 now) and put it under his pillow. Well in the rush of things going on that day, my wife and I forgot to put something under the pillow. The next day he was crying and said that the "tooth fairy" forgot him. Well, we felt like crap and told him that she must have been busy but she would definitely take care of it. That night we put a little extra under the pillow. Well to my surprise at the end of the month I got the phone bill in. There was at least 20 calls to a 900 number. I called the phone company and asked about the calls. The calls were a minute apart (4:30pm, 4:31pm etc). The operator started laughing and then she finally told me who the calls went to: It was the Tooth Fairy. It seems he had watched a kids TV program the past weekend and it advertised a 900 number to the "Tooth Fairy". From then on (after blocking all 900 numbers) we never forgot about the tooth fairy!!!!

That's a funny story. Looks like your boy inherited some of your wife's "shopping" genes!
