If I were seriously interested, I'd look at the G35 Coupe first . . after all, it's the same basic car.
From a performance standpoint tho, it's absolutely not a Z06 performer -- I've found a few on the roads around here who wanted to play . . . from a 40 roll to ~90-100, there's typically a few carlengths.
350Z is not a direct Z06 competitior and definitely not in the Z06 category.
Nevertheless, this is one hell of a sweet car. I like it. Of course I like Corvette too.
If Nissan increases the horsepower by 25-35HP in this car in the next few years, and later on adds a turbo (or a twin turbo), it will provide good competition to the Vette.
Hopefully, by that time Vette will move even furhter and C6 will be out.
A friend writes for Sports Car, and brought one out to a Sacramento SCCA event, An it did well (very well) in the street tire class. My short drive: Not the punch of a Z06 But in the right hands at an Auto X, or tight Mt. Road, you could be humbled

I agree... the Infinity G35 is a sweet car. Trying to talk my wife into getting one.
