Seems to me CART, Chris Pook, and all the teams have a contract to broadcast the races.....right??

I follow F1.....period. However I am watching Mid-Ohio qualifying as I type...on Speed TV.

Hey guys, did you know that CART _PAYS_ to get on TV? Not like nascar where networks bid on the rights to cover it.

I think it is tragic that the Seattle station isn't showing the race, I spent my youth around the spectator sites at Mid-Ohio with my dad and I always love to see the CART cars run there. I'm hoping a black-out doesn't occur for the Chicago area.

Unfortunately, things are looking bleak for CART, there just isn't much support out there beyond us racing fanatics or people who are intrigued by the technology. I'm kinda seconding mgarfias's point that CART has to pay the networks while NASCAR sells the rights.

I saw a recent poll (either on the ESPN/RPM site or SpeedTV) that US racing fans rank WRC second to NASCAR. That was a shocker to me ...
