No run flats - Is best fix a AAA tow?

What's the best "no spare," remedy for a temporary get home fix? What's the GM kit like?

I filled the last flat Ihad with enough air to get it to a safe spot(parking lot at work).. Put it up on a jack (yes I keep a jack & lug wrench in the trunk) I let the "Road Hazard Warranty take care of it for me. $100 for a $300 tire.

I also have Towing insurance in case I am too far from a "Safe Spot"

It's a good idea to get tire pressure sensors installed, so you can catch it before it's too late.

I carry a plug kit in the car. The flat fix makes such a mess inside the tire. It's about the same just plugging the tire.

What are you gonna do if you pick up two nails on the same trip, since the can of flat fix is empty after the first one!

I have a 'vert and a z06.
I got a flat today on the 'vert. It has run-flats on it. The dealer said, you can drive it for 100km before any damage?!

btw Took it to a GM dealer (chev) and they didn't have the correct tool to remove the rim?!@

Sent me to a local tire dealer. He fixed it. $40CDN.

btw Doesn't the Z06 have run-flats too?

Bill.

A cell phone and credit card!!
GM towing only repays claims they deem legitimate??
All I want is to get me to a repair facility without screwing anything else up!! I'll deal with the monitary side later!

I carry a plug kit and two LARGE cans of flat fixer. Don't even bother with the GM Kit.

I have sensors but I was thinking about that evening when you leave work, and there's that low or flat tire staring at you. :( A slow leak. Even if you plug the leak, you still need air.

I wonder if there's some sort of air pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter or a lightweight hand or foot pump, with decent output, that you could use rather then gunk up the inside of the tire. I've been checking the catalogs but haven't found anything yet.

I've got a brookstone hand pump I could carry, but it doesn't put out much air per pump. I use an old sears electric pump at home, does a great job.

In a Z06 trunk. Now I know! Great. At the moment I have a coupe with non-run flats, so I wanted to know how ZO6 owners cope. I'm sure I could order the factory compressor, and kit. thanks...

If you go to a Wal-mart or sears you can get a air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter for like $20. The kit that the Z06 has is nothing special and I think I heard someone say they cost a couple hundred or something crazy like that.
