Problem with Valentine 1 ?

Has anyone had the problem with their Valentine that when I get a signal coming from the front it shows it coming from the rear ? I tried it many times this weekend with a trip to upstate NY so I know it's just not a fluke ! Not that I speed

Thanks

Rob

No problems here, I used mine this weekend and worked great.
Except for one patrolman who didn't have his radar on....

I had it go off numereous times ! When it started beeping then getting faster the police were in front and not behind ! Also in Penn. they use alot of info signs which also set the Val 1 off and they showed behind and then to the side ! So for right now if it shows the signal to the rear I look ahead

Radar bounces off anything it hits, so when you are in traffic your signal may be mixed.

the only problem my V1 has is false laser alerts when GM SUV's hit their brakes.

You're kidding... right??? The periodic false laser has bothered me.

Other than that no problems. I love my V1 it's the best out there.

Overall, I love my V1, but it has those problems from time to time. GM brake lights cause false laser warnings, wrong direction indicator, etc. I always thought the wrong direction was due to reflected radar off the rear-view mirror, as I have never had radar from the back show as from the front (always the other way).

I was hit with real laser the other day. The guy was at least 1/4 mile away when he fired, and kept it on me right up until I passed him. So here is the question: I was under the impression that a black Z was basically invisible to laser. No front plate, black absorbs all colors, plastic car, no vertical surface. Black seats, no grill to speak of. The only reflective items are the corner lights, which would diffuse and redirect the laser. Am I right??? If not, where is the target on the car? I figured he was PO'd because he could not read me - why else would he shoot me for 30 seconds straight (25mph zone, I was at 31 when first hit, dropped to 30. In Fla, you cannot get a ticket for 5 over.)

I have found the errors due to GMC SUVs (Envoy and the like) cause a lot of false alarms. More so in the Vette as the angle is more downward.

Notice it does not seem to respond to the Ohio State Patrol much, but then again, are they just aiming or have a new fangled laser?

If they have POP3 mode, the V1 will not pick it up until you have the upgrade installed.
