Proud to be a Texan this week!

I am so proud to be a Texan this week. I'm proud of my governor who moved quickly to provide relief to hurricane victims. Proud of all the people here who have dug deep to provide cash, food, assistance, living space, etc to those less fortunate than themselves. I'm proud of the volunteers from the Texas Red Cross to the Texas firefighters and EMT personnel on the ground in LA and Mississippi.

I'm proud of the caring people on this forum who prayed through the storm for the welfare of our friends in the affected areas. It is this kind of caring and concern that gives me hope for the future of the Gulf coast, of Texas and of the United States. Let's try to focus on the positive aspects of this terrible disaster!!

I think you should always be proud to be Texan. And you probably are. I love Texas, it's a great state. If I had to move Texas would be high on the list.

Proud you should be! Thanks to Texas for stepping up so fast.

Also, I didn't keep the message, wish I had, but our Governor Huckabee sent an e-mail today to all Arkansas cities and counties asking that each location do what they can to take in people who have been displaced.

You should be proud. They did a great job!

I'm also proud of Americans in general! It's amazing what the Americans have given to charity so far and the help that they've tried to provide for the people.

Great Post!

As a transplanted Texan, with a lot of family in both Texas and Louisiana, I couldn't agree more!

You are right! The help that we have been getting has been people and groups from other states...not government help. At least not yet. It is our national guard, the kindness of neighboring states and local citizens who are making the impact.

Thank you Texas and all the other people and states who have been trying to make a difference! Thank you to everyone who is trying to help. We do appreciate it! And the refugees here appreciate the help.

Ohh! I Love Kinky! He should be the next Texas Governor! He is like Jefferson Parish President Arron Broussard and Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee! Gotta love em! They speak their minds!

Two thumbs up for Texas. I just heard last night that Tucson is going to be taking several thousand evacuees.
