Purple XLR

I saw a Neiman Marcus purple XLR at Kerbeck Cadillac. I was hoping to take it for a test drive (or should I say a test beating) but it wasnít for sale. Fit and finish was excellent, hopefully that will carry over to the C6. All of the body panels were even and I didnít see any orange peel, didnít think GM could build a car without peel. Overall a tight car with some very nice lines. Negatives, the color (canít see spending 80k for a purple car) and the whimpy narrow wheels. Oh, very cool door handles, touch pads!

I heard they increased the depth of the XLR body panels to improve quality...

not sure if the Corvette C6 will get the increase in panel depth due to weight concerns...

I took the Corvette to a high school car wash today....and the cheerleaders washing and drying the car thought the body panel fit on the Z looked just fine..They were all over the car and taking photos for the year book I guess....?

I'd have to say the same..about them too...

Had the opportunity to tour the XLR assembly area in BG during our Z06 fest and was greatly impressed! They had about 15 of the purple N-M cars there.

I've heard the purple used on the N-M edition XLR is the same as the 1998 Corvette Medium Purple Pearl Metallic. They sold 381 in '98, and dropped the color in '99.
