Battle of the American Bad Boys. We will be testing the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 against the 2008 Chevy Z06 in a Top-Gear style shootout at Willow Springs in the next few weeks. What we want to know is who do you think will win and why? I know this is a Chevy community and most of you will go with the Z06 but please give the most elaborate reason as to why you think your choice should win.
Who is "we" and what is the format?
Road course only or?
Who sets up the cars?
Several members here own/have owned both . pending more info on the "shootout" approach, I defer to them.
You'll prolly get more objective feedback here than on the Viper forums

IMO, its going to come down to who drives best! The gearing of the Z06 will give it a very slight advantage IMO. Can't wait to see results.

Ya know Jim, I swear I was thinking this..DRIVER means ALOT! Again is it a Head-to-Head shoot out meaning here's the Viper and Vette one behind the other going right and left and all that..or is it under a timed thing like at the "ring" where 1 car on the track for its time trial..lots of questions to ask..should be close...

Hi, sorry for the delay. Thanks to all of you who have already given your 10 cents.
'We' are socal production company, producing a 13 part series, matching a host of rivals head to head in all elements of performance (track), as well as subjective reviews of each car based on a larger criteria.
Unlike other magazine and TV review shows, we are going to be truly interactive, embracing the actual discussions and debates happening online, in forums, blogs etc right now. We are referencing actual forums, actual posts and showing clips from current user/owner posted videos, from both camps. All this will be with permission, of course.
Our driver, who is an absolute pro, a World Champion (can't give it away with the class), a hollywood stunt driver and previously a test driver for one of the major automotive manufacturers, will be driving both cars individually to ensure the fairest of testing.
Right now we are simply asking the people who know and care (you folks) for feedback and opinions.
I hope that answers your question. Let me know if you have any others.
