Superbowl Rant

Preface: I am a Raiders fan, so, this is just me crying over spilled milk.

Firstly, Celine Dion Isn't she Canadian? Nothing against our friends from the North, but why is she singing at the Superbowl and why is she singing "God Bless America". I know, I know WE are all Americans. But, this is my rant so...SHUT IT! It doesn't help that she is horrifying anyway. True torture Celine and Yanni in concert together with special guests Kenny G and John Tesh. Yet, I digress. Celine Sucks!

Secondly, Thank you Dixie Chicks for a wonderful rendition of our National Anthem "Star-Spangled Banner".

Thirdly, What is up with my Raiders?

Fourthly, Don't make fun of my "-ly" transition words. "-ly" is a perfectLY good addition to any word.

Fifthly, Superbowl. Men bashing each others brains in for four quarters. Shania Twain singing "I Feel Like a Woman" & Gwen Stefani singing "I'm Just a Girl". That mixes like oil and monkey poop. We need Zombie or Tool or some other killer crazy death metal band to pump up the crowd. Don't get me wrong; I liked Shania's Dominatrix Mistress busty outfit...oh yeah!

Sixthly, My damned Raiders got trounced. (I fixed it Dan )

OK, Thanks for reading all of this if you did. If you did I feel for you too.

Rant off.

Tony "Crying in my huge pilla" Bennett

I was rootin' for the Bucs ... I called a 17 point spread for them all day ... I was pretty close on it most of the time, but the Raiders just gave it all up at the end. I had a feeling the Bucs would do good because of their D. A good defense is almost always better than a good offense, IMHO. Sorry 'bout your loss, and I agree with you on most of that other stuff you ranted about!!

I'm not a Raiders or Bucaneer fan, but I wished the Raiders would have pulled it out.

The Bucaneers remind me of the Seminoles, classless and always running their d**k suckers.

I think Callahan was in way over his head in this game, and that window and door of opportunity "may" have closed for Gannon and Tim Brown.

Mike,

I feel for Gannon, too. Damn O-line couldn't keep Brooks and the boys away from him. The Bucs are tough and dominated when it counted.

As for me, I am in the hurry up and wait mode. Waiting for the word to go to work. Probably looking at going to California for 3 months and Arizona for a month to train. Then, on to Oklahoma for the remainder of five years. Keep your fingers crossed.

As for rants...I am really good at spoutin' off about stuff I have no clue about. "A good argument is always ruined by some fool that knows what he is talking about."

Raiders got some BAD calls just when they were feeling good. Could have been a better game.

Oh Man, Larry,

I forgot about Bon Jovi Aaaaahhhh!! I can't believe I typed the words Bon Jovi....Aaaaaahhhh!!! Did it again. This vicious cycle never ends. Stevie Ray Vaughn did in a helicopter crash and we can't Bon Jovi any where near an airport.

Hey Tony:

It was simply the Buc's day..........

Look at it this way: Gannon had a career bad day. I personally watched this guy complete something like 30+ straight vs. the Broncos on Monday Night Football in Denver! You gotta hand it to Chuckie and Monty Kiffen's defense. They were in his face all night. His "O" line did not play well and got shoved all over the field!!

A couple of those picks were really receivers not coming back to the ball....... I am just glad it wasn't Brian Griese at the QB. He might have thrown 7 picks.

Callahan was a class act. I am sorry for Tim Brown, he's one of my favorite guys. But Tampa Bay has long suffered and honestly, I was glad to see Chuckie stick it to Greasy old Al Davis. He is the reason that Gruden was "traded".

Hey, you're gonna have a blast this fall in Laramie with Coach Joe Glenn and the Wyoming Cowboys. Go Pokes!!

My best to you,

Mike

I'm glad the Raiders lost. I have hated the Raiders ever since that pig Jack Tatum crippled Darryl Stingley. That was the biggest cheap shot in NFL history. He should have been banned from the game. I hope the sucky Raiders never win anything. BTW I carry a grudge forever.

Two axioms of football got proven correct tonight:

1. Defense wins championships - this was the first SB that pitted the leagues #1 offense against the league's #1 defense, and the Bucs defense lived up to its billing and shut down the Oakland offense. Through the season the Bucs defense forced opposing QBs to have a QB rating of 48.4 against it, and I beleive Gannon ended up in the low 40s. Kiffin did a great job and they executed their defensive scheme to a tee, and Gannon looked like a rookie all night, and not the League MVP.

2. Speed Kills - Jimmy Johnson always preached this when he was in Dallas. All we heard all week was how that massive O line of the Raiders was going to manhandle the Tampa D line. It never happened. You can't hit what you can't catch, and most of the evening we watched these Oakland lineman looking like turnstyles as the the TB lineman went wizzing past on thier way to Gannon or Garner.

Oakland's real problems now start as they enter the offseason some $40 million over the salary cap, Just like Baltimore a fews years back the Raiders will have to heavily dismantle this team and start again...
