Has anyone run across one of the older hardtop MR2s that has been all riced out? I've got a guy claiming his is supercharged/intercooled at 37 pounds of boost using the stock motor (maybe with different internals, I do not know), makes 375 hp, and has susp/brake work, and as such, will eat up on a road course my 2003 Z06, which is basically stock. He lives in Dallas, TX, and says some guy in Dallas mods these cars regularly and apparently with some success.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I am confused... are you wondering why his car is faster? MR2's are nice handling cars. 37psi on a Supercharger, eh... nah, but the 375hp why not... its possible even with a little less boost

I am wondering how a 1.8 liter, 4 cyl motor can get 375HP without blowing up and, yes, be faster than the Vette.
Has anyone run one of these MR2s? How about some help here. Have any Z folks in Dallas, TX, run across one, as there is some guy in Dallas that jazzes up these MR2s.
To get 375 HP from 1.8 liters on pump gas sounds damn near impossible without exploding
That sounds pretty low. There was a guy that used to hang out with us - he had a toyota MR2 that made about 500 rwhp with a turbo. I don't know how long the motor lasted, but the car was wicked fast. I know those cars can be made damn quick.
If you are asking who is going to win on the road course, I will put my money on the better driver. I don't know what kind of track experience you have or what experience the other guy has, but it will come down to the driver, unless you are both almost dead equal in skill/experience. Only then will the car become the primary factor.
