what's the latest news, was the law changed? I've heard the law passed and didn't pass. Since I've gotten tickets on two different Z06s and its the standard excuse for the local barney to pull you over i want to make sure it did pass, hopefully.
I can't beleive people still get pulled over for no front plates. It is an excuse for a cop to pull you over just to piss you off though. They do it for no other reason than that.

So what you are saying here is that cops see you have no front plate and say to themselves, "Gee, I think I'll pull him over just to piss him off."?

I think many times yes. I was once pulled over for my front license plate on an extremely busy highway where there was a very limited shoulder and the radar gun registered 71 and the speed limit was 70. To top it off the cop had an attitude about safety and how speeding was unsafe as cars speed past us not 6 feet from our parked cars. I could site 4 other examples but i knuckled under and stuck that ugly plate on the front of my cars.

Yes... cops in CA do it all the time.
one time, I got pullled over (in my stock DD civic w/front plate) because the cop said that I was suspected of having weapons/drugs. His reason for suspicion was because when he pulled up to me at the light, I didn't look over and awknoledge that he was there. He said this was an idication that I was doing something wrong. PFF... sure buddy. More like racial profiling. 1am, civic, young asian guy with a cap on. Has to be bad right? He had me there for 30 mins and then breifly searched my car before letting me go. He even said that I should be thankful that he didn't site me for a small crack in my windshield. Haha.
Anyway, nothing against cops. I've met a lot of really cool ones. But like everything else, there are always those few assholes that ruin it for the rest.
We have the same problem in Illinois. State law that you
display a front plate. I've signed several petitions to due
away with a front plate, but don't think it will go anywhere.
I don't have a front plate on mine, and haven't had any problems.
Me either... I have never run them on any of our Vettes and we picked up a new dodge pickup two weeks ago and the dealer did not even install the front plate on it saying it wasn't required anymore.
