Of titles and Buyers

Oy vay!!

So, the car is sold, I have the cash, and it's been about 11 days so far. I called the CA DMV to find out the status of the title, and they are taking their sweet time to get it out to me.

Apparently they are going to send it to Chase (my financing company who is now paid off), which will then send it to me and they are going to do this on the 11th of June. (A Sunday?!?!?)

Weird.

To top that off, the buyers called yesterday to ask about the title, and they also "broke" the car.

Asked me if I had any problems with the car or issues, which I have not. When I delivered the car to them, it was running in perfect condition, had no problems, and was not "indicating" any problems. It's been in the shop twice - once to repair a bad window motor on the passenger side, and a 2nd time due to a strange sound which turned out to be a nail in the tire.

Good news is the car is under factory warranty, so hopefully they'll get it repaired under warranty.

Anyone have any comments or thoughts? I feel kinda bad for them, and wanted to call them and ask what happened, but my wife is of the opinion, just leave it alone.

What do you guys think?

Not really sure. They reported that the car would not move and had trouble shifting/getting into gear.

I didn't go into details with them, and just shared with them that the car was still under warranty.

Again -when I gave the car over to them, it ran just fine. I even followed them around for about 2.5 to 3 miles afterwards as we drove to the nearest DMV to get paperwork done. (They did not know where it was, so I had them follow me). And I hung around with them to make sure the DMV didn't give them any hassles.

The car ran fine then as well.
