Have any of you guys seen the bare knuckle fight in the backyard between two huge black guys. The guy who wins the fight is Kimbo Slice a 32 year old street fighter with an iron jaw. Some say he would beat Tyson but I recently saw a video of a Boston cop that beats Kimbo at his own game. His name is Sean Gannon and he is now a UFC fighter who was beaten in his first fight. I think a trained MMA fighter would beat Kimbo. What do you guys think.
i say a backyard bare knuckles fight on the net between 2 black guys. and the guy who won was one tough dude. he dominated the other dude so bad that he finally just stood there and let the other dude punch him in the face a few times before he totally demoralized him by punching his face right off his skull
i saw those vids pretty mean. gannon wore him out and beat kimbo. old tyson will loose but young tyson would get my money. you know back when no one would fight him and he was beating guys first few minutes.
Tough way to make a living. I wonder if he had medical insurance. I'm so glad my premiums go to pay for idiots like that. I realize this was a staged fight for money, but I have a brief story to share about a fist fight an old friend of mine was involved in.
A guy whom I played football with in college (a great guy who was a black wide reciever and about 175 lbs.-very athletic, but nowhere near the size of the guys in the video) was at a bar and some marine's had too much to drink and started antagonizing him with racial slurs. Anyway, they took it outside and the marine started throwing blows and my friend tagged him in the jaw with one punch and broke his neck and killed him. No charges were filed because he basically was provoked and was defending himself, but he never wanted to kill him. His life was changed forever as was the family of the marine. Just a horrible situation. Much easier just to walk away unless there is no other option.
Kimbo does hit hard and has a good chin but IMHO most pro fighters would destroy him. Gannon beat him and wasn't allowed to use any of his ground game or any of his kickboxing skills. Gannon's first fight in the UFC he got destroyed by not even one of the top fighters.
Tyson would murder Kimbo. Even if Kimbo lasted for longer then 1 minute his cardio is horrible and he wouldnt be able to do anything after that. I know this old Tyson looks worse and worse every fight but I still believe he could take Kimbo out without a problem. BTW the last I heard is Kimbo was doing so MMA training but Im not 100% sure if it is true.
IMHO Tyson in his prime was essentially unstoppable *as a boxer*. But you put him in a ring with a top NHB figher, and I'm thinking he's toast. He won't know how to grapple, how to kick, etc. He just wouldn't have the training or skills to handle that.
Against an also-ran? Maybe he'd have a chance. But even against a submission fighter such as Royce Gracie, I'm not thinking any pure boxer would have much of a chance. I think Gracie offered to fight Tyson once, and Tyson didn't take him up on it.
*Edit* Another reason I think this is that, to put it bluntly, Tyson is not very smart. I think it would be pretty easy for a NHB fighter to get him out of his element.
Novetteyet is 100% correct. A highly trained fighter could take Tyson down and Sub him or ground and pound him. Tyson would have no clue what to do.
But Kimbo is not trained to fight on the ground and he would try to stand with Tyson. Which Tyson would pick him apart. Tysons cardio (which might not be great anymore but still) would give him a huge advantage after the first minute or so in the fight.
