Vette guy is arguing that the Z06 is NOT the best vette yet...

He is over on the Viper board telling all of them that the Z06 isn't so bad. Here is his initial post. If you want to see the entire thread, go to the link below:

quote:

A guy on corvetteforum.com stated that the new Z06 was
the king of corvette's,the standard of corvettes. What an idiot.
Has he ever heard of a L88 or ZL1 corvette? Some of those
guys make me sick to my stomach. They are some of the cockiest
people I have ever seen. The ego's on some of those Z06 guys is just too much for me to bear.Modesty is not their strong point.
Your thougts.

He's right we are cocky as sh-t..why the hell not! (I'm just kidding...theres always someone out there knocking the vette or in this case a Z..)

All I know is..I smile every dam time I get in and turn the key...

I bet 99% of the guys here enjoy the same thing..

I think the Viper is a great car too..I especially like the new model even more so than 50% of the viper guys I bet. Not that the original isn't cool...just that the added dimensions of the new viper make it feasible to consider it...a daily driver..

I imagine..I will see many more vipers used on a daily basis around here..which is great..

They will kick my butt..in impromtu racing I would imagine(especially since I'm new to shifting)..but since its all in fun...Who cares..I"m glad there out there on the streets being used.

Cause in the end its all about having fun.

I still prefer the last gen of viper over the new one. I don't like the rear of the new viper. IMO the rear bumper area is too much like other Dodge products. Interior looks much improved. I still would rather have Normans viper. Best looking one that I have ever seen.

You have offended my honor, you have offended my famiwy (chinese accent) and you have offended the Shaolin temple.

I don't take offense. I am just glad some of you like the new Viper styling. I like it but I just don't love it. Seeing that some of my fellow Vette owners like the new SRT means that Chrysler is in fact targeting the Corvette crowd. Now, lets get back to the Z06 not being the best vette yet. hahaha I love mine and have been around the older ones for quite a while but I don't think they really compete. It is not a dis on the older ones, it is just evolution. Tire, suspension, and other newer technology just makes the Z one awesome machine. Just like you mentioned above.

GMblack3: You just scored some serious points. Thanks! I appreciate it.

Actually I wouldn't really call it the best yet. "Best" is definately subjective. But anyone that doesn't believe that it's the most serious, most refined Vette ever has never driven one.

I believe without a doubt that the Z06 is the "Best Vette Yet" I have owned 17 Corvettes in the past 31 years. I have owned 4 of the 5 generations, but I have driven all 5 generations of Corvettes. There is no Vette from the past, that is better than the Z06 Corvette, including the L88 and ZL1. I have not driven an L88 or ZL1 (only 2 made) but, I can tell you that in reading road test results on these models, that they did not equal the Z06 in performance, handling, braking etc.
The Z06 is an amazing car! Think about it! We are talking about a car that will do 0-60 in 4 seconds, the 1/4 mile in the low 12's, handling at 1g, a top speed of 170+MPH and a car capable of getting 30MPG on the highway all with comfort and luxuries. The Z06 is "THE BEST VETTE YET".

Why is that BOZO posting unrelated Vette stuff on a Viper forum? Did he get run off the corvette forums by the facts?

I think the new Viper is a improvement over the last one, but not by much. It would be almost impossible for Dodge to come up with something that totally blows the old Viper away. But I do think they have a good start with this one.

And even though the Viper and the Z are both high performance sports cars, I get a frown on my face when the two are compared. I love both of them. It's like having Florida State play Miami in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship, hate to have a winner, wish there could always be a tie
