I broke down and sold the vert. I ended up getting $30,200 for it. It was a fun 2 years of owning the car. But it was time to move on
So i sold the vette on wensday and on sunday i picked up this 2004 Yamaha Yzf R6 with 1000 miles on it. It already had all the right mods done to it Crome rims/ rear fender delete/ slip on
So far i love it ! This thing is much more user friendly than the R1. It sounds insane at 15k rpm let me tell you a few pics ........
Its no vette but i dare say its just as much fun
This is my fav pic but its to big to post and i cant shrink it http://www.cjvette.com/R6.jpg

Congrats on the new toy. I don't know my bikes: if I were looking for a bike, how does this compare to a Ducati (top of the line) and the R1? Can you give me an idea as far as price, power, maintenance, etc.?

Ducatis are nice but ive been told there insanly expensive to work on other than that i dont know. The quality is all there on a Yamaha so i cant imagine a ducati being better built. The R1 is the R6's bigger brother 1000cc's compared to the R6's 600
If your not a Very comfortable on a 1000cc bikes you shouldnt be on a 1000cc machine. I had a 2001 R1 as my first bike and it intimidated me so bad to the point i was afraid to get on for fear of getting ripped off ......... Thes bikes are no joke your modern day 180HP r1 will click off a mid 10sec time. My 120hp R6 should do a mid 11 sec time with a good rider
As far a price goes...... the R6 can be had for $7300 new and the R1 around 9k new.
The modern day sport bike is the best fun to cash value out there
Cool bike. I enjoy my 919, it is fun without being scarry. But, if I had to choose between the bike and the vette, I would pick the vette. It is easier to get a girl to ride in the vette than on the back of the bike.
Even though they were more exhilarating than a car, I just couldn't shake the feeling when riding that you’re an idiot away from loosing your life violently, or worse.
Maybe b/c I've attended a few bike accident scenes when I was a Medic, and seen first hand how grizzly they can become.
Sold it, and bought the Z.
Drive safe, and keep the sudden wrist flexes for the track....

Sorry bro, can't advertise for non site vendor in your sig Lingenfelter 427 CID 616 BHP : Caravaggio Full Leather & Alcantra Interior : PHADT Coilover & Sways
Congats on your R6.
You should try the 2005 gsxr1000, i bought one 3 weeks ago.
I always wanted an R6 and they are a great handling bike, but i like the power of a 1000cc so i gave up some handling.
Not anymore, i would say the 05 gsxr1000 handles even better than the R6 but with 60% more power
Bikes are great, have fun with your new toy and be safe
I like that lethal quality about bikes. They keep you focussed. ("focus or die"). I like to think my FJR1300 is the Corvette of bikes, comfortable but still whoop-@ss fast.
