my brother drove my 98 coupe and 03z(did a burnout before i did) i wasnt pissed after all hes fighting for my freedom and is currently in Iraq.
uncle drove the 98 and dad drove the z. only once uncle is a truckguy and dad is scared of the power.
i took a girl for a ride and she asked to drive it. my reply was you dont know how to drive a stick. she said "all u have to do is wait until it tells you to shift, but i dont understand why there is a seven there (on the tach) and not here(on the shifter)." i explained about the tach but there is no way she is driving the z .
I'll let me dad drive the Z and a few friends but, that's about it. No girls drive the Z unless they have one of their own.

Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid...John Wayne.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
I let about four of my friends drive my car so they know how a Z feels. It was a one-time thing only. I wouldn't do it on a regular basis. But, these are close friends of mine and I wanted to share the experience with them. They were smiling ear to ear! Made me feel good.
I wouldn't let just anyone drive my car. But at the same time, if one of my friends let me drive their Murcielago, I would be pretty stoked. I would hope that they would let me drive that kinda car to share the experience with me. I wouldn't like to hear them say that they don't let anyone drive their car. So, I'm good to my close friends and I hope that those friends who are extremely well-off are good to me if they consider me a close friend of theirs.
I would like to say that I don't let ANYONE drive my car. But, I'm very happy to share a great experience with those I consider to be my "boys".
Think of it as Show and Tell. Feels good to see my friends smile... and really big!
For the Z...Just me! Years ago, I let a buddy ride one of my bikes and he totaled it. Since then, it's difficult for me to allow anyone else to drive/ride any of my performance vehicles. I don't mind if they drive the truck or Jeep, but the bike and the Vette are off limits!
I let a few friends drive my Z, and my daughter drives it also.
Ya gotta share the smiles! I just love to watch them smile
as they're driving it!
Jim

The first day I got my car I let my friend drive who owns a 96 grand sport, painted red with the white stripe down the middle (from the factory). I figured he would be careful but he went around a turn and curbed my chrome 5 spokers. I got home and just bit my tongue as i didnt want to make things weird. I was just like, I think you curbed the rim back there....and he was like oh no thats been there, I can tell. I just let it go and never let him drive again.

I would have been one less friend and they would have found him in the bayou.
A couple of friends...the wife and also my mechanic before the cam and new clutch. Now just me and the mechanic.
It's not that the wife isn't allowed ...it's just that she knows I'd rather her not...plus the cam and the stiffer clutch just aren't as user friendly and she doesn't want to be the one driving IF something did go wrong.
