Would you buy used '02 Z06 with mods?

I'm starting the process to sell my Z06. I'm deciding whether or not to sell it with a few bolt-on mods or all the bolt-on mods.
I hate to remove all the mods, b/c I know the new owner would most likely enjoy them. I'm willing to sell it as is, understanding that I'm not going to recuperate my costs.

I'm probably going to sell my Z with all the mods. I'm preparing a list right now, and I couldn't believe that I've spent all this money. It's going to be an awesome deal for anyone in the market for a used Z06.

I think it depends on who was selling the car. I, for instance, have a considerable amount of mods (I'M STOCK!!). I never race my Z or abuse it, but the power is there if I need it. It really matters if the car was abused or not.

I voted bone stock. There are too many variables in the decision to buy a modded car.

This is definitely NOT directed at you, but I know a salesman whose motto is 'there's an ass for every seat' He says he can sell anything. Just gotta find the right person.

If it is low mileage, and still under warranty, and I can purchase an extended warranty ... Sure ... Why not?

I would sell as is unless you are going to do a similar job to your next car and can reuse the parts.

I just sold my turbo miata without the turbo .. You'll get about the same price without the mods as you would with. I looked at it as if I could make some of my money back by selling some of the parts that I could take off in a reasonable amount of time or effort then I would do it, other wise it's a wash. But if your trading it in definitely take of everything, they deduct money off the price

Brian

PS if you want to sell anything ... I just bought mine last week and I have only had time to put in a B&M shifter so I might be interested.

Hard decision

To many different scenarios to consider when buying a modded car. I believe since you are providing a detailed list to the perspective buyer, that will make the sell easier since they know what they are inheriting.

Best of luck in the sell of your Z.

Depends on the person selling. I would buy one with lots of mods if the person was respectable and trustworthy.

It sounds like form the way you frased your question you already know the answer to this, but you want some confirmation to save you a bit of time in taking it back to stock.

Your unspoken assumption is correct. Most anyone who sees a moded car will equate that with abuse or a hard life and take a pass if the items in question are designed for enhanced performance. Except for things like floor mats or partitions you want to yank out anthing that screams, "I put the pedal to the flow as much as possible". And unfortunately that almost everthing in your list.

Sure guys say....Oh yeah, I'd buy it....but then how many offers have been flooding in.

I think most who are savy to performance cars would look for the cleanest and least abused version. They would do there own mods and pay the premium and get the peace of mind knowing they were done right (not that you didnt, but most done trust others, especially dealers).

Sure character of the owner is a factor, but mods still beg many of the same questions.

Probably just stating the obvious, but it goes for all modded, or better known as hot rodded cars, not just vettes. So I'd recommend stock.

Anyone who is selling their used Zee will get spanked regardless of "improvements"! With the new 03's out and a surplus of used ones around, I just keep my 02 EB Zee and continue to grin ear to ear. Good luck in selling yours bro and I hope you stick around this site and share/post/partake! Bill

We just got through "de-mod'g" our Camaro SS prior to sale. Sold about $2K worth of mods which helped us start mod'g the Z.

Usually a mod'd car will not fetch the same price as a bone stock one will.

Would I buy one? No. I'd pay more for a stocker myself.
