Your favorite beef jerky???

I'm a big fan of good beef jerky...I just ordered some from Luther's Smokehouse. I got 16 oz for about 20 bucks. It's pretty good stuff but, not exactly what I was looking for. It's from a good cut but, the spices aren't all that great. Anyone else have a jerky that they really like?

I agree Robert...we make our own also but, most of the time it's hard to get. Everyone in the family likes it so it goes really quick...I only get it at Christmas and Easter.

Best I've EVER had was from Jerry's Meats in Juneau, Alaska. It's whole pieces of meat, sliced to finger-size strips and jerked. This stuff is not the dry, hard stuff. It's moist, flavorful, real meat jerky. I don't see it in their site catalog, but I'm sure if you call and ask, you can get it...

Jerry's Meats

edit--I just called Jerry's and talked to Scott (great name, huh?), he told me they still carry the jerky--it goes for $15.98/lb. Seems expensive only until you try it!

As an example, he was just shipping out a 4# box:

$63.92--4#
$5.00--cold pack box
$20.20--FedEx 2nd day

$89.12--Total

They also do great smoked Salmon bellies and other Alaskan seafood. You gotta try it...

Case is right on target.....the spices used & to what degree can make all the difference in the world.

As for me well, "I've never met any beef jerkey I didn't like!!"

GREAT STUFF!!
