K&N Intake

Does anyone know when the K&N Intake for the C6 Z06 will be available? Best place to buy one?

Re: K&N Intake

I ordered the K&N 63-3060-1 from Southern Car Parts two days ago.

Be sure you get the 3060-1, not the 3060 as it has been discontinued due to some problem.

I don't think it would be more than 10HP without a tune. Perhaps twenty with one.

I'm looking more for the seat-of-the-pants effect. This happens due to improved throttle response combinded with more intake noise .

Re: K&N Intake

They say about 26hp at 4500rpm but i dont know about that. The new version has been out for a while now, i installed and did the predator tune. Car is awesome. Still tweeking with the tune, but what a difference when you dial in the fuel trims.

Re: K&N Intake

What specifically do you have to do for the "tune".
Thanks,
Ray

Basically two things, adjust the two MAF tables and "Power enrichment vs: RPM". I tuned the 07 I had for several weeks that had headers and a Halltech and it made a huge difference!

Not much gain to be had on timing with these cars.

Re: K&N Intake

I will be driving the car on the street. Just looking for more HP without going into the engine at this point. I installed the K&N and it seems to have improved slightly but I think I need a tune. Would you suggest a custom tune at a shop or a do it yourself programmer?

Custom tune at a shop using a wideband O2 sensor.

Arron Scott in Thomaston has a shop in the back of his home. First class operation. He has a dyno and can tune. I can try to find his phone # if you want.
