Centrifugal SC for C6 Z06 part 2

If someone makes one, I will buy it for my Z06. Any tuners out there working on one?

ATI Procharger makes a blower and kit for the C6Z06.

You might have to call them to get pricing.

ATI's 1st C6 ZO6 customer destroyed a piston on the way home from ATI's dyno test.

So, ATI will not be releasing a kit for the C6 ZO6.

Unfortunately, I don't think STS will be releasing a turbo kit either because according to STS the "underside" of the Z is different from the coupe and that is where they run their piping.

I'd start with a coupe if I was going to build a FI car.
If you want to stay ZO6,
I'd try to motivate STS to build a turbo kit for the 06 Z.

Ok, had to do some quick checking to be sure.......
ATI has not decided one way or another whether they will make a kit for the new Z06. I was incorrect to say that they already had one available.

Yes, the one guy grenaded a piston, but it is unsure of exactly what caused this to happen. This is actually a fairly long story, as I understand it. Not nearly as simple as your statement implies. Doubt seriously if it will be a big factor in Prochargers ultimate decision.

Sorry rz01, I gave you some bad info. I thought it was already on the market.
I'll bet it will be in the next 6 months, but probably only designed to do 4lbs boost without internal engine mods to lower the CR.

My C6 system should easily adapt to the Z. I'll probably use a restrictor plate to limit boost at the top end.
I just haven't had time to finish the system.
I'm having a mold made for an intake duct that will house the new MAF.

Well Mike,
I don't know where you are getting your info,
but I know where I am getting mine:
DIRECTLY from the owner of the Procharged 06 ZO6.

He is not just "one guy".
He is THE GUY who gave Procharger his BRAND NEW 06 ZO6 for SIX months so they could use it to base their kit off of.
Not only did the thing die on the way home from Procharger,
according to the owner, ATI SERIOULSY jerked him around after the engine died.

I know you are only getting one side of the story,
but I bet ANdy would never treat one of his customers like that. Besides, I have witnessed ATI jerking around customers and vendors for years and I would not recommend them to anyone.
A centrifugal supercharger is just a belt driven turbo anyway, Why settle for an imitation when you can have the real thing with no belts or parasitic drag to deal with?

Anyone who knows will tell you that Andy is the KING of forced induction on the west coast.

With that being said,
I don't know why you are not moving away from the centrifugal business Andy?
It would appear to me that twin turbos are the way to go at this point; followed by twin screw superchargers.

You must have come to the same conclusion or you wouldn't have put the effort into designing your own personal TT kit.

Either way,
you are the man Andy and I look forward to your TT kit and would love to see it running 5-7 psi on a 100% stock ZO6.

If you mean you know for sure that Procharger is NOT going to make a C6Z06 kit, and you got your info from the owner of the Procharged Z06, you better check your source a bit more. I don't think he knows what Dan Jones has in mind and I doubt if you do either!
I guess that makes my source a little more reliable, right.

As for the grenaded piston, I assume you know the whole story there too, huh. This isn't the same guy that told the Procharger folks he had another engine he wanted to put in the Z so they were free to take it to the max. This isn't the same guy that used an Ed Wright preprogrammed chip for tuning rather than an HP tuner. As for being jacked around, I'm not sure just who was jacking who on this deal but it's real easy for you just to blame it on Procharger and not go into the rest of the story isn't it.

Cheap shots are easy to make from the cheap seats and that's just about where you're sitting from what I can tell.

Yea, sure you have. Dealt with them on a day to day basis, have you? Sounds like just another guy sitting on the sideline throwing stones just to make himself feel better.

btw, this has nothing to do with Andy. If Andy has a kit or develops a kit that's great. You just felt the need to jump on the site and make your first post a blast at ATI. What a cool thing to do

It doesn't have to be witty. It's the dead on truth!

Do you think you are the only one to have a dialogue with ATI?
Or with Dan for that matter?

Nope!
But I assume that means that you have talked to him since noon today about developing a kit for the new Z06 and he told you he has now made up his mind?
