Which way do i go

Well first, let me say that i been a member of this board for a while. I been reading this forum while i was in university and then after 06Z came out as well; waiting for that day to come for me to buy a Z06. Finally this past summer, i got 2007 Black Z06. Now, i am looking to do either one of those two options below. What you think?

If money was not a issue, please tell me which way would you go and why.

I really like APS twin turbo set up, but cost much more then procharger.

APS twin turbo (~620rwhp) Includes headers, exhaust, injectors, tunning. estimated cost about 15k with installation/tunning
TOTAL COST Estimated at 15k.

OR

Procharger 06-07 C6 Z06 H.O. Intercooled D1SC Supercharger Kit (6500$ +tuning)
587 RWHP, 4.5 psi, ProCharger P-1SC-1, stock LS7

Also get Long Tube Headers + Corsa Exhaust + Tunning. (~600rwhp?)

TOTAL COST 8k$

Both of these set ups will produce close to same power. I just cant make up my mind which way to go.

The car will daily driver. The care will be raced 1/4 mile once in a while.

What you guys think?
Is supercharger better or is turbo better. This is probably all another topic.

Thank

Re: Which way do i go

Have you considered the MTI Eaton-TVS setup. I saw their test car put down 733hp on pump gas with the stock bottom end when they had their last open house.

Not sure how much that set up costs. I am limiting myself to about 15k. Thats why on those two options i looked at - i said money is no issue. Eaton Set up probably runs over 15k up toward 20k.

I am also doing some research about KB blowers and trying to figure out if KB, Vortec or APS Twin turbo is the way to go.

KB and Vortec will probably run me around 8k...APS turbos about 15k..They all deliver very close power amount.

I am leaning more toward blowers at this time, even though i love APS set up.

If i do go with blowers P1SC (4.5lbs) for now, i can do internal upgrades later (lower CP ration) and increase boost eventually.

I am just kind of stuck. I love APS turbos look, but blowers got no lag time like turbos do.

So far p1SC (4.5lbs pSI) is winning, then KB and then APS turbos.

I just got to do more research on KB

ANY INPUT, please feel free....I notice MIKE is been answering all these blower questions on here. MIKE any input?

Thank you all

I think for less than 5 lbs of boost a nice procharger would be cool. You don't need a hood or major reconstruction to fit.

I vote for the Procharger also because it seems to suit your needs just fine and is economically wise especially in this day in age.

Re: Which way do i go

I think that would be wise.

I think i will go ahead and start looking for P1SC ProCharger. I think that is probably best way to go for now.

I seen new ProChargers for 6200$ and I seen used ranging from 4000-4500$

Even one member on this board is selling one for 5k (new never used). I will try to negotiate the deal with him to see if he wants to sell it RIGHT away for 4.5k.

Other good thing about procharger, it is probably easy to install (when comparing to twin turbo set up).

great.
so, 4.5k for blower. 2.5k for LTHeaders and Corsa. About 1k for install and Tunning.

So total about 8k.

I will most likely go with ProCharger.

Thanks guys. If anyone else got any input, please add your 0.02

Re: Which way do i go

There is a new Procharger that has the helical cut gears, is totally quiet and would be very stealth. MCRacing had a car at the Fest two years ago, just your average Coupe with a LS3 and about 5 lbs of boost. Let me tell you, that thing was quick. I can just image what it would do for an LS7!
