WinterFest 2008

OK, I've read enough about the fun I missed at "The Fest" this year!!

ProAutoSports has a weekend Apr 18-19 at the main track!!
No NHRA this year but roadracing takes up the whole track and we will have to make the trek to Speedworld for the drag racers again...........

I haven't contacted Speedworld yet to see what they have scheduled.
Last year we shared the track with Scottsdale Exotic Car Club and I was amazed at how nice this group was!! First class all the way!!

Do you think we can get 20 westsider's to show up??

Rob's STS TT packs some great power and a multitude of jackets/sweaters for the unexpected cold morning at the dragstrip!!

That man comes prepared!!

I guess I'm just throwing this out there to see any interest!!

We only had a few last year but it was SO much fun!!
Hell, I didn't even take that many pics cuz I was having too much fun!!

Actually, you get FRCTom and IVO together and the party is there!!
Yes Bob, the mushroom was sweet and Mike had our back the whole time!!
Scott can't hold the MM, but he was fun to laugh at!!
I'm game again!!

Ken

Re: WinterFest 2008

You know I'm game for anything Bro, but Winterfest needs to be in the winter, so I can get out of the bloody cold here! What about Feb or March, wonder if there are any openings then? I bet Doug, our new site owner would be willing to help out setting things up, and I plan on being in PHX for a couple of weeks at the end of the year, so we can get together and check out a few activities. Lets try and keep this thread up top, so more members get interested. I got a feeling that we might have 40 or 50 this year,,,,,,now that would be really cool! Thanks for getting things started again Bro! talk to you soon!

Re: WinterFest 2008

Ken, you know that you have my support even though I am out in the middle of nowhere. I had a blast at the last one. Would be nice if more West coast people could make it.

Re: WinterFest 2008

Ken, I certainly want to be there this year, hoping to drive Orange Krush out for the event.

The purpose of this event, besides giving us another reason to act like teenagers again, is to give our west coast members the opportunity to experience the Fest.

I think an early March date would be best for most folks, but that is just me.

Any help I can provide, you got it, just let me know what you need.

I wanna say I'm in barring any unforseen circumstances. The wife wants to visit that big hole in the ground while were out there.

Jub, that's what I did last year. Early season (March) is perfect time....no crowds, little brisk in the AM (on the South Rim at daybreak was ~ 20' but then 70's by mid day).

I was just resting my eyes!!!

Sure was a fun trip this past WinterFest--looking forward to number II. I liked that area we stayed at this year, but the hotel could have been more accommodating to the group--maybe they'll be nicer if they see we have a bigger group, or that it may be a regular thing... ...then again, it could go the other way if we told 'em that! You think they didn't like those stripes I left in the parking lot???

Let's see if we can get more participation from the Left Coasters, this time! McRats' (c'mon Pat & Kat, its only a 5-6 hr drive this time!), Alex, etc. time to show up!

...can't wait!

Dang!! Somebody woke Scott up!!

Really though, Scott will be out there tearing up the road course again. Hey you did a super job!! 1st timer...yeah right!!!

I was kind of disappointed of the West siders' turnout. Hopefully they will recover and make a grand appearance this time out. Plenty of these waiting.
