Can I change my vote from liking the C5 body stlye to the C6 now
This is better than what I expected and now I can't wait to see it in person at the Detroit VIP breifing with GM. I wonder what colors will be available???
I'm not really fond of the ground effects and certainly not happy with the weight gain. The Viper is already putting out more than 620 horses at the motor and weighs about the same.
I may have to turn mine when it comes in.

Its definitely better than what I expected as well. Still not fond of that huge hatch glass.
Impressive though.....

FEAR THE MIATA
It's a masculine looking car. Showing too much on the muscle/flex flow.
A bit over done I think.
I see what your saying but I guess that is somwhat appealing to me. The early model Vipers (before they got 'refined') were cool looking because of their 'wild' and kinda off-the-wall look. I see some of that off-the-wall look in the ZR-1 and I kinda like it.
Don't get me wrong, I won't spend that type of money for 650hp, but I think they've done a pretty good job.
I think it looks like they hired someone who designs sport compact body kits to do the cladding. If the thing didn't have all the crap on the sides it wouldn't need a carbon fiber hood to save weight! That being said, the what look to be monsterous carbon brakes are a nice touch. This being a dedicated Z06 site, I hope no one is offended when I say that the ZR-1 was and is merely a way for GM to showcase an unreal powerplant (LT-5 then, LS9 now) in a somewhat portly configuration. The General SHOULD offer a stripper version of the Z06 (a la f430 scuderia) with a higher winding 427 (8000rpm sounds reasonable) putting down at least 650 naturally aspirated horsepower, and a curb weight of about 2750lbs. This configuration would leave no doubts about what a Corvette is. Oh, and absolutely no chrome wheels!!
