Let's have a prize for the greatest confirmed markup on the ZR1 !! I'll start with $165,00 at Dadeland Chevrolet in Miami.....getting 2 cars.
Greetings, I put a deposit down for the 2009 ZR1 about 2 1/2 years ago at "my" chevy dealer from whom I have bought many GM cars, including trucks, vettes. I have probably bought 15+ GM vehicles over the years. I was told 2 1/2 years ago that the price for this "iffy" car would be around the same ratio as the 5K overcharge I paid for my 2006 Z06.
I was called to order my ZR1 yesterday since I was #1 on the allocation list of this dealer's 4 allocations. I was told that by the way the price would be between 2-4 times the MSRP (250K to 500K). Tadge Juechter, the Chief of Corvette Engineering, has urged GM ZR1 dealers to respect the MSRP. I am very upset with the greed and disregard for customer loyalty in a down economy. Is there any recourse?

And GM just can't figure out why they are where they are in sales. And the GM dealers are all sweating their balls off because GM is dropping auto lines just to stay in business.
I was just called by Ramp Chevy today about the ZR1 I have on order. The sales person was going threw the list of buyer's. He was calling every one to let them know the price they where going to ask for the car. I hope you guys are sitting down... I was 18th on the list now im 5th here's the price he told me 200,000.00 !!!! I just started laughing at him he tryed explaining to me why but I laughed some more at him. I told him I would only pay 125000.00 but thats it. I know the car is great but its still not a Ferrari. So I guess I'll be waiting until the price drops or im going to go buy a used Ferrari or Lambo and a used Z06 and maybe a older used viper too for the price of that ZR1. I guess chevy will be getting stuck with some dusty ZR1's everybody is dropping off the list.

Is the ZR1 even going to Canada? I heard no '08 or '09s could go to Canada including the ZR1? The Transport Canada website confirms that. I believe it is due to not meeting a bumper standard. Have you heard anything different on the ZR1?

Reason: typo
It's that darned gas guzzler tax that put me over the edge. I guess I'll have to pass.

Jeff: I just visited the Transport Canada website at GENERAL MOTORS / SATURN and there appears to be no restriction on any Corvettes. I think previously the 2008 Corvettes were restricted for the reason you noted but apparently this has now been resolved. My local dealer expects to have one ZR1 allocated but this may be wishful thinking. We'll see.

Until then the site specifically excluded all '09 Corvettes and listed ZR1s. I have a copy of the old list if you are interested. Good news it is no longer restricted. Hopefully you can get one.
