Re: 700 Hp C7!???

"Jim Queen, revealed in an interview with Motor Trend that the next-generation C7 Corvette will produce up to 700 naturally-aspirated horsepower in its top trim."

I think Mr Queen is misinformed--700NA HP--HA!!!

Where are they gonna get it from..I mean N/A 700HP..so are we going 454 or 500CI and more comp w/more radically designed (((emission friendly))) cam/heads and exhaust?!?!? Is there a new block coming? He MUST BE MISINFORMED!!!

THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT DRIVE ME CRAZY!!! Like I said if any possiblity that this could be true then to me it just drives the ZR1 STOCK down the tubes in my opinion...

Re: 700 Hp C7!???

Motor Trend never gets their facts straight. Also, they refer to the C6 as an "SS" corvette.

Hate to say it, but:

With the increasing amounts of hp, insurance companies, johnny do gooders, and government intervention, I'm afraid a crack down on the hp wars is coming.

No flames please...think about it.

Agreed. I think we may be lucky if GM still offers a 500HP version of the C7, and even then only if they figure out how to lighten the car, add DoD, Direct Injections, or other goodies to get the gas mileages at least into the low 30s. The 35MPG standard IS going to kill a lot of things. 700HP Corvettes is definitely one of them IMO.

I know ZIP...my thoughts exactly! But could it be the w/the "Tree Hugger" crap coming down in the future that GM wants to do a "Last Hurah" and up the anti - so to speak...before it turns into the Late 70's all over again and the 2nd Muscle Car era is dead!!!??

Are these QA1 shocks automaticaly controlled? I can imagine you could manually set adjust them for a drag race, and then crawl up under the fender and manually adjust them back afterwards, but that would be a pain, compared to the ZR1's uber-magnaride setup

Paul, the QA1's aren't that difficult to adjust. Takes only a few minutes. Certainly not as easy as an automatically controlled arrangement, but still not a big problem.

Mike

*edit* just looked at your response again and suspect it was tongue-in-cheek. If so...never mind
