I came across some great pics of the 2008 SRT10 ACR Viper yesterday and commented on how much I liked this Viper vs any other Viper I've seen. That prompted me to visit heir website and I am a little put off by the attitude of some Viper members.
The biggest difference between this site and others is the majority of our members do not bash our competition. In fact most of us appreciate the mechanical and technological advances of other cars. Is it me or are some Vipers owners that arrogant? I wonder if they have a Viper wave
Yes, some Viper owners are douche bags. But so are some Corvette owners. So are some Porsche owners, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. They make for some great entertainment though.
The douche bag per capita ratio is somewhat low here.

It is nice to know that a small block bow tie can can be destructive to the big and long V-10 viper engine. It puts chills down my back everytime i think about it.
It also seems as though the Viper is always trying to out do the Vette but always seems to be unsuccessful.
Not only cost, which as you said is a huge differnce, but also the fact the Viper ACR at least is really a track car that is streetable at least in the legal sense.
With its aero package, including the rear wing and removable front splitter along with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires as standard equipment, in addition to the radio and sound deadening delete options, the ACR is definitely more track oriented than either the C6RS is, or the forthcoming ZR1 likely will be.
I troll that site and caught that thread. Sad that some folks are so narrow minded they have to bash something just because it isn't what THEY drive. This is precisely why I do NOT associate with any of the local Corvette clubs here, as the members I've run into have that nose in the air I-own-a-Corvette-so-I'm-better-than-you attitude.I can not stand that sort of arogance. And regretably the local Viper owners I've met are somewhat that way as well, so when I buy one of those I doubt I'll hang out with them either. Thank god, my Mustang club isn't like either of those.
