Non Bias response: I seriously think the regular GTR will be very close to the Zr1 on the track, but the v-spec will be at least 3 seconds faster than the zr1 on the nurvergreen(holy shi* spelling) track...I am considering both...btw they both look great...
ZR1 is godly better ride comfort and better handling with the new suspension that adjusts..
I hope it runs in the 7:2x's I would be impressed as all hell!!

Thanks for the "non bias" response
...and welcome to the site!
In my humble opinion, both cars look great to me. The ZR-1 looks sinister with that look, but it does have a slight BLING look to it. However, it does look good and not overbearing. The only thing I dislike most about C6, is that fat rear glass like the C5 coupes. It just don't appeal to me. I prefer the Fized Roof look, with the shorter glass.
The GTR-V Spec, in my own opinion also looks good. It is different and regardless, it has an appeal in a different class than the Corvette. When I see the GTR, I can see resemblence of the Nissan 350Z in some ways. Either way, I think both cars look incredible, both are incredibly fast, and anyone who can afford either may take it to another level by adding more mods. I can't afford either, but i wish I could be at the 'Ring watching them duel.
When I was in Germany, I was two weeks early of being there the day the GTR was first seen making some runs around the track. That would have been awesome to been there.
Oh well. At least I got my few rounds on the 'Ring!
Regardless of driving style, that course will test what you THINK your made of, and then show you what you really need in a set up. I needed sticky tires and HUGE brakes andf more nerve......
Take my word for it, the track really does test you just how far you are willing to push your car..... I was lucky enough to NOT go off the damn track! (A few times) But it was a blast!!!!!

It's not light, but the GT-R was still able to lap better times than a Z06 and a 997 turbo in a recent magazine article (about five seconds faster). The V-Spec shown above is going to be lighter and have more power than the GT-R that beat the Z06 on the track.
I wouldn't be too concerned about weight: the new Bentley Continental GT Speed weighs 5200 lbs (before driver) and does 0-60 in 4.0 seconds.
Biased opinion: That track allows the Z to barely hit 4th (top speeds 120's) and the driver, Millen, admitted, he was short shifting due to fear in the Z! Also, having driven an AWD car daily, I will tell you it is easy to run it at the limit. If you don't drive a car like a Z regularly, it will frighten you. I'm not speaking for Millen - he is a PRO, but he sort of did that himself in the article. He never got comfy in the Z. Are you? I'm getting there - on the street! I want to see that same comparo at Elkhart Lake
With all that torque, it’s often better to take a section of the track in a higher gear. You really have to be careful with the throttle.
and...
"You have to wait for the car to settle, and as a result, it doesn’t give you a lot of confidence
when you’re driving it hard."
and...
"I’ve always liked driving Corvettes for their engines. But I’m always a bit tense in the Z06, trying to put all that power down through those two rear wheels.”
Compare those statements to what Jan Magnussen had to say after his time attack runs on the Nurburgring....
"I couldn't have driven one single lap more. I wouldn't have liked to drive a single meter more with myself at the wheel at that speed."
It appears Jan Magnussen was scared as well. Nevermind he works for GM, drives the C6R and is regarded as one of the best drivers in the world. Fear comes from not knowing. Not knowing in this case means not knowing what the car is going to do, or knowing and not being able to do anything about it except refuse to drive it at those speeds again.
Maybe GM should hire someone who is comfortable in the Z06 and without fear.
