1000 hp would probably be a death sentence and the heavyweight Bugatti hasn't really gone for it! The ZR1 driver stopped at 175mph on the final straightaway. Likes living I'm a guessing! Quicker Not Faster!
How friggin long is that course?? Maybe it's just the car but that driver doesn't seem very smooth.
We need a 1000hp C5 to break that record!!!

Re: This is getting serious guys!
I say good for the ACR. The ZR1 might well have more in the tank, it has a tire disadvantage (remember, the ACR is running on Pilot Sport Cups, not PS2s), it has less downforce, and its 3000 times comfort/ride/etc.
Still, good for the ACR. ACR has been cleaning house in all the track comparisons lately, and maybe, just maybe, that'll inspire GM to finally make their own "v-spec"/"ACR"/"scuderia"/"superleggara"/"GT3" track-oriented car package for enthusiasts.
Can you even imagine what could be done, simply, with a Z06 or ZR1? It'd be silly and render all the imports pointless. And that would be fun.
I honestly think the ZR1 has another 3 or 4 seconds in it at the Ring. Remember that the run was done in completely production trim with street tirres, and there was an engineer behind the wheel, not one of the factory team drivers.
I think if you put one of the team drivers behind the wheel the ZR1 might break that record...

For sure, but imagine what a ZR1 "ACR" could do. More downforce, less weight, adjustable shocks, pilot sport cups...
Anyway! The top imediate is all American! The top is the million $ F1. But, if the quick Ferrari 430 Scudera shows up? It's more significant bucks, not fair if it got the best time, but, it would be great if it didn't. It would make for good marketing if a simply tweeked production ZR1 did the job in Motortrend. Evenmore, with an underdrive gear and an extra inboard low-neutral-high shifter, and drag radials, the ZR1 owners could simply and dynamically be able to show off more between street lights tooo!!!!! 0-60 in close to 3s and possible even better gas mileage would sell a lot of cars!
There is no question the ACR is badass. As discussed on the other thread regarding this vid, the driver missed a couple of shifts which translates into there being "more in it". It is not geared perfectly for the 'ring since the driver hits the rev limiter several times (still probably faster than upshifting for such a short time).
I would still love to see what Ron F, or Johnny O could do with the ZR1 - and the C6RS too for that matter

it is a pity that the Viper video did not have the telemetry overlay like the ZR1 did. It would have been interesting to compare them side by side to see who is faster where.
Doesn't make a difference anyway to me. Much as I like the looks of the Viper, the ZR1 is a better overall machine IMO.

That was a rough, rev limiter banging, missed shift(s) run and he still be the ZR1 by 4 seconds!!
Also, the viper didn't come out of 4th down the straight, wonder why, he had plenty of track.

I read that he would lose a few mph in 5th because of the downforce at that speed. The wing was on setting 7 out of 12 and the car was getting 1250lbs of df.
