GM did it!

I love it when a plan comes together:

Knowing how GM like the roots and even warrantied some C5's with the blowers I posed the question, somewhere on this site, after the c6 Z06 first came out, "why doesn't GM supercharge the Z and go after the Enzo"? I said, "half the guys are doing it anyways"!

Next, one guy replied, "the compression was to high". I replied, " that's an easy tweek for GM. Another guy liked the idea, and a few months later the Blue Devil started showing up.

It's going to be awesome when all the new machines get to testing against each other!!!

Re: GM did it!

The ZR1 is not a blown LS7. Yes, it has a blower, but the LS7 was not used. The ZR1 will have the LS9, which is 6.2 L.

The Z06 motor is 7.0L, called the LS7.
The ZR1 motor is 6.2L, called the LS9.

Re: GM did it!

They use the newest, most efficient, 4 lobe Eaton rotor in the SC.

Re: GM did it!

Yes, your right! I was speaking in concept only, and this set-up makes turbo torque #s without the lag, quite nice!!!

And, the roll bar was because I thought GM was probably chicken, and they were as they didn't do a 427 (with steet tires), did they! And a working 427 aftermarket supercharged with street tires and 6lbs of boost was said to be laughable in regards to its traction in a mag. recently!

Anyways, I wanted GM to do it because they have the $ to do get the details right and I would be able to see the results in mags. as I have been doing for many years.
Yeah!

Re: GM did it!

Sorry, but my 02 Z was asked for when I was 13.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone at GM got wind of the idea from my post. Anyway, it's good to see technology catching up so much before 2015, speaking of all Gore.

Keep those Mopeds!
